The Jealousy Against John

The Jealous Against John

“Expressions of Empathy” (Volume I)
Oil on Canvas
From a night terror, LORD TOPH was inspired to translate his agonizing dream into a bizarre depiction of jealousy in its most fantastic form. Speaking our minds often causes conflict, yet having conviction can be as controversial as preaching a gospel. LORD TOPH has chosen the name “John” (as in John the Baptist) to illustrate the martyred man being hunted and tortured by unruly beasts. The irony is drawn by them being seemingly civilized by being garbed in armor, yet they display a barbaric demeanor. The fleeing John is being stabbed by what appears to be a female beast which is leading the hunt. No remorse is shown in her expression as she ruthlessly runs John through. In the struggle of running for his life, he is caught and held in the clutch of the only other human being in order to exhibit “man” as being his worst enemy.

Mary’s Pretty Modesty

Mary's Pretty Modesty

“Expressions of Empathy” (Volume I)
Oil on Canvas
The key to inner beauty is quite simple and very apparent really. Many may look attractive, and even think they feel attractive, but pretty is as pretty does. What makes Mary so appealing, is the delightful lighthearted demeanor behind her somewhat diffident smile. A sense of modesty is displayed despite her appealing outer beauty. She is flattered by sincere compliments, and takes them to heart, instead of head. She is virtuous instead of vain. In considering herself, she gracefully considers others with an unabashed selflessness. Mary is the pinnacle of pretty. Mary is purity in body, mind, and soul.

The Curious About Caleb

The Curious About Caleb

“Expressions of Empathy” (Volume I)
Oil on Canvas
A dashing & debonair young gent, Caleb always appears to be. Known about in certain circles, and always the star of the scene; yet in a broader perspective of society, his dapper image becomes somewhat skewed to the judgemental, queer to the ignorant, and perverse to the prejudice. All around him figures whisper and point fingers like loaded guns of ridicule. His smooth and flawless attire is graced by a sauntering walk, and a gentle voice; somewhat feminine, and threatening to many. Perhaps the insecure male questioning his own masculinity by overstating each gesture and stance, wonders. Perhaps the arrogant female that clutches to the arm of her male companion (while cutting her eyes Caleb’s way) becomes intimidated. The questions remain and refrain… “What does he have that I don’t have?” “What makes him so comfortable being that way.” The answer is simple really, confidence. Caleb knows who he is, and loves himself with an unwavering security.

The Perversion of Peter

“Expressions of Empathy” (Volume I)
Oil on Canvas
Between his moist palms and the clutch of his clumsy digits, Peter holds on to something as sacred as his member. During the privacy of his reverie, he is able to grasp the pleasures he has never been fulfilled by. A sexual scenario is composed by Peter from simply imagining someone he might desire, or even desire to be. He orchestrates his own crescendo. He is diffident, he is insecure, he is homely, and he is alone. I am Peter, you are Peter… we all have been Peter at some point prior to self-discovery. What some may call perversion, is simply self exploration and fulfillment to Peter.

In today’s society technology has advanced us to the point of what seems to be no return to humanity. “Delilah’s Lust for Vanity” is a visual vivid display of just how one can get lost along the way in superficiality by artificially attempting to connect with what is real.
